"Leaping out of the speakers like some kind of wild animal, Absence Of Light by Dublin bruisers Xerosun is a punchy yet melodic molten slab of heavy metal that immediately evokes the thunder, like the Mighty Thor himself. A rampaging riff-laden sledge-hammer of an album, the guitars are reassuringly meaty, the vocals are powerful (particularly on the monstrous 'Broken') and the production is polished and pristine throughout all ten tracks. Highlights include the hook-heavy 'Long Way Down', which blends Disturbed and Static X influences to create a positively bewitching brew, and the crunching album closer 'Heartfalls' - surely another future classic. But pretty much every track packs a punch as strong as Rocky Balboa in his prime. Are you ready to rumble?"
SCORE: 4/5
